You should stop by my place on the way down and I'll drive out to blue bell with you. My cj is finally on the road

It was originally a 4cyl auto. Now its a 350 Chevy , Turbo 350 and Dana 300 . It has sat for a few years. The engine had low oil pressure when it was parked. The top doors and winch and diamond plate do not come with. The body isnt bad by East Coast standards and the frame is solid. I went under it and all the floor under the diamond plate looked good. I believe the CC on the axle to make them 4.10s. 4inch lift with old but holding air all terrains. Im on the fence about it. $3000

No top or doors? Hmmm. That would cost you another $200-$250 for the doors and $400-$500 for a half top or about $1K for a full hard top

$3,000 I'd say walk away, but then again it is a Scrambler, everything a CJ7 should have been. Then there's the junk under the hood, but parts for a 350 are easy to find. No big deal about the top, jeeps shouldn't sport a cage .... honestly I like the cab top better, the big ol' hard tops look big and bulky to me. But then again, it is a Scrambler with a good frame.

Yeah I wanted the top with it but dont think thats gonna happen. He has 2 other full hardtops but when I asked about them he said $1000. I think thats the high end price for full hardtop and it should be pretty close to immaculate. I havent made any counter offer yet. Im still thinking if I want to take this project on. It would need to be up and running by May no later.

For me this is a purpose built vehicle. I like the 1/2 soft top look on a Scrambler myself but it wont fit what Im using it for. This is for our camping trips. The Chevy drivetrain plus 4.10s is a plus for me if I can get it to run. I need something with enough power to pull a small trailer full of gear , the loaded Scrambler itself , and at some point a canoe on top. There are alot of mountains where we go camping. This really seems like a good platform for me.

Id love to have a Scrambler that was all original just like it came out of Toledo. Maybe one day I will but I sure as hell wouldnt be using it like I'll use this one.

I know I'd love to have a Scrambler myself. Putting all SBC sarcasm aside, they have earned their place as great hard working engines. I'm not much of an automatic Transmission man, but there is no questioning the love many have for them. I can certainly get behind your intended use, especially the canoe on top. I'm struggling with making a decent looking canoe/Adirondack Guide Boat rack right now. Good luck with your search. One thing for sure, this one will need some sort of paint on the front. That rust isn't a good thing at all.

3k for the scrambler and 1k for the top 4k total is a decent price for a scrambler if it isn't rusted to he'll. I've seen scrambler in much worse condition for higher asking prices.

That being said I wouldn't make a deal if you can't work it so you get a top and doors.

Yeah definately not crazy about having to purchase a full top seperately. I also have a line on one in Jersey. Full top even better body and frame , some assembly required. :D

I think I was just looking at new pics of that one. I thought of you. The frame looked pretty good on that one.

Just got off the phone with Jim , the owner of that Scrambler. Love his attitude and hopefully see this Scrambler in the flesh Oct. 5th. :)
