I recently had it posted for $4,000 but then the rear axle broke, so I listed it for $3,500.
Rebuilt motor w/ 12k miles on it - 4CYL GM 151
Replaced SR4 tranny with the newer T-5 along with the Transfer Case that came with it
New odometer ( gas guage isn't working due to a hole in the float on the sending unit )
New radiator
New batter
Weatherproof seats
Current tags/inspection
Tires have little tread left
I have the hard top and hard doors as well ( Driver side window fell out of hard top, still have it just havn't put it back in )
Swing away tire carrier for spare tire
Needs both driver and passanger side mirrors and seatbelts

Windows fell out, rear axle broke, no mirrors. I don't know man. I think you can find something else for that price. If the frame and body are perfect then I would say maybe. The AMC 304 would be a good start if you want a V8 conversion. Just remember thoug, mail Jeep show somewhat low mileage but the hours on those motors are insanely high since they park and stop and drive very slowly.

4cyl and a T-5 Transmission arent gonna get you anywhere off road to begin with. No real mail Jeeps ( Dj-5 ) came with a AMC 304 either so that mustve been swapped in or its a CJ7 someone used as a mail Jeep. If it is a Dj its auto and only 2 wheel drive so theres no Transfer Case bolted to the Transmission . It looks like the tires are worn out and mismatched. New 33 in. tires are a pretty big chunk of change right off. Too much for a Jeep that needs alot of work to be trail ready in my opinion.

thanks guys i need the help finding the right one , if you have not look at the post for the 600.00 dollar jeep do so its funny as he@@

Edo, look around for a while and save money, I lookd for 5 years for my CJ6 , looked at a lot of jeeps but held out till a 6er in great shape fell in my lap. I have less than 6 grand in it including 5 new tires, it runs fantastic and needs very little repair except cosmetic.
My CJ5 I started looking for and bought the first good deal that hit the deck, I have so much money into it I am afraid I will never get even. but I still find thing that need fixing, in six months I have changed an axle, re did the brakes from scratch, new seats, needs a rewire, have a new winch, propane conversion, it needs a tcase and tranny overhaul to keep them from leaking like sives, I amd redoing the motor mounts and tranny mount, e brake linkage is held together with tie wire, I put in a entire new clutch linkage, sheesh and more I have forgotten.
Slow down, keep looking till that one like my 6 shows up.
