This is my 1951 M100 1/4 ton Jeep trailer. I picked it up a few years ago

and redid it. Same wheel bolt pattern as a CJ.

It was in sad shape. I'm thinking of painted my CJ7 the same olive green.

Nice trailer.
I want one.
You did a good job on it. Did you change the trailer hitch? Wasn't it a pintle hook?

Good looking trailer!! Any detailed pics available for the hitch set-up? I've got a BT3-C that I want to replace the 1-7/8" Fulton hitch on with a 2" unit and extend the tounge a bit...

As I said the trailer was in sad shape. someone replaced the hitch with a ball type. I replaced that with a 2" ball setup. A M100 should not have a tailgate but this was cut in and I added the CJ tailgate and a new upper lip. Other trailers to look at are the 416 square fenders.

Some more shots. Before Oct 07 , Replaced the axle using CJ hubs ,POR the bed.
CJ7 tailgate.

1948 bantam civilian trailer, built after the war included a tailgate and a 1 7/8 ball hitch. the military version had a pindal hitch and no tailgate to be able to load up to 500 lbs and float thru rivers like a boat.

I knew they could float but I didn't know they didn't have a tailgate. How do they float without a tailgate?

it has a full tub, cant open if no tailgste so no water can leak in around hinge and clasp area

Ahh, I see said the blind man. That makes sense.
I once heard about a race paddling those trailers across a lake. Maybe it was in an off-road magazine.

What is a good price for one of these trailers? My neighbor has one that is not in bad condition, but not in great condition either. He is asking $300.00 for it. Does that sound like a fair price?

I don't know what they are worth but I'd pay $300 in a heartbeat even if it needs work.
What's that saying that comes to mind?
A fool and his money are soon parted.

$300 is a very good price.
Here's one I've been working on. The original tub was rusted beyond repair but I found another at a yard sale, sans fenders.
When I went to mount the new tub I found it was 3" winder than the original so I cut the 3" from the middle and welded it back together.
I got the new fenders from a place called Six Robblees.
I also did some work the tung and put on a 1 7/8" hitch.

could you give us the dimensions of the trailer you are rebuilding, I'm starting to build my own and would like the l x w x h of box and length of the tongue. thanks :D

There are 4 1/4 ton trailers
WW2 (I think this is the smaller by 3")
M100 round fenders, front box,4 tiedowns
Cil round fenders ,no pintal, 3 tiedowns (all the above: CJ bolt patern)
M416 square fenders

you said you got the fenders from six robblees do you have the part # of them?
