Hello,

I hope somebody can help me. I need the measurements for the left and right hole to mount the red signal lights on the body. Not only the diameter, but all measurements I need to drill the hole in the right position. My CJ7 body haven´t this, but I want to do that, cause it looks like fine.
I found a pic , that you can see, what I mean. Hope for help.

I don't have mine anymore, but the hole sizes for the red rear marker light are the same as the amber front fender one. This applies to the reflector style, and not the round ones.

I dont know what year CJ7 you have. I've never seen one with a hole for the marker light that high up on the body.

Here is a pic of my rear quarter, on a 79 CJ7 . I measured DOWN from the top flat edge of the body and from the rear body seam. These measurements are for center of the hole required. Hope this helps.

YES!!!! That´s it. This is the correct place for the marker lights, I´m looking for. My body is from 1986 and haven´t the markers anymore. I mean, the markers on the back of the Jeep makes him much more beautiful.
Once more, thanks a lot and regards from Germany :chug:

@Chriss:

Can I assume that the pic you put up is NOT of your 86 CJ7 ?

Yes, that´s right. The pic I put on is NOT my CJ7 body. I found that pic at google. It was the only pic, that shows a hole for the marker light. I wonder why the hole on the pic is too near at the soft top. But the pic you put is always right.
This is my 86 body. Absolutely rust free from Texas, came to Germany from a GI near Munich. Now I start a Golden Eagle restoration, with a AMC 360 and T-150 and some more fine parts. Here in Germany we find a lot of good parts sometimes from the U.K. or Italy O.k. some parts are difficult to find, like little brackets. But I make such things by myself. No problem.
The JEEP CJ is one of the best cars ever built. Awesome stuff!!
I´m still looking for the original steel rims 10x15". They are very hard to find... there are a lot in the U.S, but nobody want to ship it. It´s heavy weight and very expensive for shipping costs and the duty taxes.

Wow, looks great so far!!

When I saw the first pic you put up, my first thought was: "you've got WAY more to worry about than location of a marker light!!!". That body was trashed!!

Your project is well under way...

best of luck!!
