Yes, to relieve some pressure, and so you can re-tighten them all in proper sequence again -circular, from the center outward.

Well I got time to work on my baby Friday. I took the oil pan off and noticed that on the back of the oil pan the gasket had moved when I tried to install it last time. So I cleaned it up and put some rtv done so it wouldn't move again and left it for four hours in the sun to dry. I reinstalled it and started my baby up and after about 5 minutes it started to drip oil from the back of the pan again. Please does anyone have any advice on what I should do now!!!
