So things at work have been deteriorating steadily over the last year. Layoffs, talks of contracts getting pulled, increasingly incompetent management resulting in me not being able to do a good job on anything because I waste time fixing everyone else's and I don't have time to do my own work.
So it's time to move on. I found a new job working at a different company that actually cares about doing a good job. I'm getting out of aerospace/defense at least for a while. I'm getting into railroad. I'll be doing software for train control systems.
But with this new job comes a move. I'll be going back home to Iowa. I'm going to pack up the CJ project and drag it with me. I won't get any real work done on it for at least a month or two. But with the way things are working out, the budget constraints should be easing and that means I can do a couple of things I really want rather than having to compromise.
Of course, there isn't much in the way of wheeling opportunities in Iowa so I'm going to be spending some time getting Truck Norris into shape to tow the CJ to where the good wheeling is.
So I guess I'll be on for the next two weeks but then I'll be sporadic until I get settled in the new job.
