Installing the MSD ignition control module, the wiring diagram in the team rush thread shows the tach wire not connected, do you just hook that up to the green tach wire from the old coil connection? I put in the Blaster coil at the same time, (free with the MSD 6a from summit).

the ground cable from the battery to the engine was cracked, so I decided to replace it, and found that the small ground wire to the firewall, the bolt has a nut on the inside, which of course is now spinning, and I cant reach it. Anyway to get to it without taking the whole dash off?? Whos bright idea was that??

Remove the top battery tray bracket bolt and install a SS threaded stud with nut. Then attach the secondary battery gnd to that using star washers and a second nut.
Connect your main gnd to the top starter mounting bolt.
I run my tach off the dedicated tach port on the other end of the MSD box.

After getting things wired up, and a fill up with gas, stopped by the place that rebuilt my carb to check the timing, its running about 10 degrees, and sounds great. Still did not hook up the tach wire, since I am thinking I need to pull the dash and sort out some other wiring issues anyway. Anyone ever hook up the white wire as a "kill" switch, from the MSD? And if so, where might be a discreet place to put the switch? I know, posting that on the net is no bright, lol.

Anyway, after driving around a few days, having wrote the mileage on the windshield, I filled up today after 63 miles, just to see what kind of mpg I was getting. When I did that before, with the single bbl Carter, I was getting 7mpg.

Today it was 15.8! I like that number, lol. Even though I know the actual miles are off a bit due to the larger tires, its still a number I can keep track of.

On to the next project, probably the steering! Oh wait, got to get the turn signals figured out. And the stereo. and the.........

THX for the up-date.
