I have had this for about 2 years now. Its my 4th one. I have removed the 1300 and upgraded to the 1600DP lowered it a bit converted to 12V. Many more things done but none really worth talking about.

Yeah.....I dragged the beam getting in the old lumber yard to snap a few pics. I would like to build a Baja one day. But it will prob never happen and why bother when I have a CJ

Drop the DP and swap a rx7 rotary motor then it'll be fun.
I've owned several myself. My last being my favorite.
A 72 super, you get the old school flat windshield with the McPherson struts, looks and kickass handling.

Needs a lift kit and some 35 inch rubber.

Seriously though, it's sweet.

I had a 72. I would take it wheeling every once in a while. They were hard to beat in deep snow. (I won't bore you with the story of a buddy of mine passing a stuck jeep on a snow and mud covered mountain road in his bug.)

I love bugs need to forget about them before I buy another project! That is a clean car.

When I first got here in Arizona a long time hunter once said, "It never fails, you grind your big tough 4 x4 back into gods country on a rough rock y two track and at the end of the trail you find a stock VW bug."

That used to be the case a few years back when the Baja bugs where going strong. How humiliating. This is my wifes '70 w/1600 DP and webers,4 wheel disc brakes and 2 1/2" drop spindles.Working on a vintage roof rack as I type.
