I find it amazing and disconcerting that the neighbor has 4 kids a wife and a mother in law all living in a house provided for him free of charge - free electric and propane - (by the rich dude that owns the property in exchange for watching the property - read paid under the table) He draws welfare because he and his wife show no income - his kids get foodstamps - they all get medicare - and they all live really well. They drive to town, eat out, always have at least 5 vehicles full of gas - and no one questions what is wrong with the picture?

The guy that owns the place is a millionaire in Billings, MT that owns a hotel and a couple city blocks - he rants and raves about taxes and Romney/Obama - and yet he facilitates the welfare state of mind?

So, I will climb on down from my soapbox - and shut up - but it seems like it ain't right...:censored:

It's like those that don't have to try can always get it, and those that really need the help can't get it.

Yea the system burns my behind, I work with a guy that that is NOT married but has two kids and won't let his wife work because they wouldn't get all the free stuff. (As in MY tax money.)

It ain't right. Unfortunately the entitlement mentality is here to stay and the current administration fosters it's growth. Reliance on government is what garners votes for the dems.

USDA making Spanish soap operas to push food stamps - YouTube

This story is popping up again. Obama is using the Homeland Security to promote welfare to Spanish speaking immigrants -- even illegal ones that are eligble via their legally born children.
Homeland Security is promoting welfare to to new US immigrants.
The Daily Caller:
Ask not what you can do for your country, but what your new country can do for you.
“Welcome to USA.gov,” a website maintained by the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), bills itself as the “primary gateway for new immigrants to find basic information on how to settle in the United States” — featuring a prominent section for new immigrants about how to access government benefits.
“Depending on your immigration status, length of time in the United States, and income, you may be eligible for some federal benefit programs,” the Web page reads.
“Government assistance programs can be critically important to the well-being of some immigrants and their families. Frequently, however, there is a lack of information about how to access such benefits. Benefit programs can be complicated and you may be given misleading information about how they operate.”

I also have a problem with everyone getting on disability at an early age. Granted some people really need it, but as soon as someone gains too much weight and gets diabetes and back problems the system gives'em a check and they have no incentive to lose weight or get healthy. It pretty much becomes early retirement for them.

Meanwhile I pay tax, SS, state tax, medicare and then tax again on anything I buy. By the time I net my pay and pay my bills I am looking at peanuts compared to what I made and the thrill of getting paid is gone.

Rant over...

I hear that - just wish that someone looked into individuals who abuse it - and put em back to work to lighten the load on the rest of us...

Take no offense but I had to add this.
I broke my ankle bout 4 mths ago, have a steel plate, screws and a pin. Had diabetes since I was 10, although I could ask for help, I don't cuz I think I have too much pride to ask for help from anyone. "reason for the broken ankle" but either way you slice it, the system sucks all around.

Again I don't mean to offend anyone with this comment.

no offense taken - and as for you - you are one of the ones that qualifies...:notworthy:

The folks that take advantage - 4 babies born on Medicare and 3 adults perfectly capable of working - that is what chaps my Dukakis

Sorry bout the diabetes - and broken ankle!

One thing I've learned, "even though I'm kinda young" I don't expect anyone one to feel sorry for me, but I want, or hope, that they can see ones that do have things they personally deal with and reason that not matter what, there's someone else that has it worse. "I'm gonna take a bow and step down from the rant stage as well" sometimes it helps to vent a little.

Cornfed- having diabetes for 14 yrs has changed my life but in a way I was ahead of the curb, I had to start eating healthy startin young, now it seems like there saying, eat more vegs, less carbs, etc.... well I've been doing it for the past 14 yrs. I think I'm quoting from a song but sometimes you just work with the cards your dealt.

None taken Kilo19. I am just giving my opinion from what I have seen.

I know where you are coming from. I was out of work too for a while (but not hurt). I have friends that were all looking for the same higher level jobs. I said F it, dumbed down my resume and took the first job I could get to have gas money and keep looking.

There are legit people like yourself with legit reasons who need help and the system is in place for that reason. We are after all giving part of our paychecks away for a reason. Whether it to be build a better road and not have to live third world or get some help if need be.

The problem is, there is just a large population that drags the system down by misleading. Also, the system itself is out of control in areas and almost entices people into staying in once they get in. It a circle of despair. If you are out of work and are getting paid you have little reason to go to work. If you are unhealthy and get a check for it, you have no reason to improve your health and lose that check when you are not working.

I think there needs to be some correction to adjust for that and entice people to work and get healthy.
