Hi y'all. My name is Ben and I'm a new member. Thought I would share my recent purchase. Thanks for looking!

My dad had a '73 or '74 CJ5 that I barely remember as a kid, but he's got some great stories about that Jeep, and I've always wanted one. Well, I finally found an excuse to buy one. I recently got on a deer lease and was out on opening weekend with my F-350 with basically street tires (they're technically all terrain) and in a place that might get 20" of rain a year. I'm in the middle of the lease and we got about 2.5" of rain in a couple of hours. I was slipping and sliding all weekend trying to get around and beating the heck out of my daily driver. To be fair, it did perform well for a large truck, but the electronics had a fit and after almost frying something (still not sure what made the burning electronics smell) and spending a week fixing the truck I decided I needed a dedicated lease vehicle. I looked at side-by-sides, but you can buy two or three good CJs for the price of one side-by-side, and I can fix almost anything on a CJ myself! So I found one that I liked on marketplace and picked it up yesterday. I'm looking forward to many adventures with this Jeep, and I've already got plans for modifications I want to make that will better suit my purposes!

TLDR: I finally bit the bullet and purchased a '72 CJ5 , a Jeep I've wanted since I was a kid.

Looks like a great CJ. If your looking for the correct windshield hold down clamps they are actually listed as military clamps.

Looks a good find. I see some good tires, newer gauges, body seems good, lights look newer, engine shows a new fuel filter with a date on it (PO cared for it), new aluminum radiator, electric pusher fan in front of the radiator (great for slow crawling around the lease), power breaks, good spare, and recent TX registration (street legal/ready I assume). Is that a fuel cell in the back?

@TSB8C it is a replacement fuel tank. They replaced the old rusty tank, fuel lines, and pump and rebuilt or replaced the carburetor as well. It starts right up and runs like a top. I do see a Dana 20 rebuild in my future and possibly the Borg-Warner T-14 as well. But the previous owner put some serious work into it. It’s not perfect of course but for a 52 year old machine that’s been through God knows what I think it’s in pretty great shape.

Yea, you don't see a lot of 50+ year olds doing duty on a deer lease that still look that good. Nice find and congrats.

Welcome Ben! I also have a ‘72 CJ5 . Fun ride. I hate those dinky steering wheels so I replaced mine with a 17” original style. Enjoy!
