I have a 2008 Wrangler Rubicon 4 Door. I am wondering if anybody knows how I can watch DVD's going down the road. It only works in Park.

It's like that for a reason. In most (if not all) states it's illegal.

Exactly, and all aftermarket systems have an interlock also. It's up to the owner to hook them up though! :)

Have to admit that I feel there are already way too many distracted drivers on the roads today. Would prefer that people pay attention to the road and other users rather than things like DVD players.

If I need GPS I'll use my Crackberry. Built in GPS in a CJ is just a target for theft. I so seldom run a top down here in perpetually sunny Texas.

Thanks Everybody for your B.S. input. I no it is against the law. I was going to do it for my children so I didn't have to out in a seperate DVD player.

I fail to see even one 'B.S' answer (unless you mean 'Back Seat'). :)

Even if someone did know how to jump the fail safe - I bet no one would post for liability reasons...

And you be darn sure I would edit out for the same reason - liability.

Please don't take this the wrong way but, anything and everything is allowed here (to a point) except that which brakes the law.

Hope this doesn't taint your initial views of this forum but a rule is a rule. :chug:

Only if you post it in the Jeep - Hardcore section.

 Yeah, let us know how it works out for you...

Yes CJ, I'm sorry. :(

Hey... I gave him advice on where to get the answer he wants. They might actually tell him how to do it....

There is an endless array of personalities out there. Some folks can can see trouble coming and sidestep a needless pissing match by redirecting the question or comment, or better explaining their point. Others just get offended immediately and start with insults. Then there are those that simply cannot take comment without being sure that everyone is picking on them and react with name calling and picking a fight. however, MOST OFTEN, there is simply a misunderstanding because of wording, and I believe this is one of those times.

That out of the way, Johnson911, I can assure you that no insult to you was intended , and hope you don't take any comments personally. We are determined to not fall into that mob mentality, mindless, childish dead end here on Jeep CJ.

Back on track, I see you say children as in plural. While I understand not wanting to install a seperate DVD player, what about a portable setup on the console between the seats? Seems to me, it would be easier to see from the back seat for both passengers.

I think the price of DVD players (not recorders) is quite reasonable these days and would then serve a dual purpose. I have seen DVD mounts/holders that attach to the back of the seat/console area.
