Need HELP!!!! (Hardtop Question)

OK Folks,

I just sold a nice hardtop (advertized as an 1985) that would not fit on my 1976 CJ7 . I was told that the tops changed slightly in 1980s, but I can't find the facts on what years will fit my CJ.

I have a good line on another nice one (1984), but don't want to make the same mistake twice!

Will a 1984 Hardtop fit on my 1976 CJ7 ????

All CJ7 tops, 1976 -1986 are the exact same size, as a matter of fact YJ tops 1987 - 1995 are the same size too. I wrote this tech article to explain;
