Hi all! New here and just picked up a 77 CJ7 - survivor with an AMC V8.

I am swapping the carb out with an OEM rebuilt and there are two vacuum lines coming from the intake on the passenger side, mid way right under the carb. One has a brass fitting and the other just a tube then connects to the carb right into the air cleaner. The tube broke off.

Can I just cap it off at the intake and the Carb? What is this for, I dont remember aftermarket carbs having those. Otherwise I need ot take the intake off and thread a new line.

Thanks, David

This should be the correct vacuum diagram for a '77 AMC 304 .

I have a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l , so I am not as familiar with the vacuum routing for a AMC 304 . IIRC the vacuum tube that you're pointing at on the carb goes to a port on the factory air cleaner housing, you can cap that off and not worry about it.
