New Carb Issues

Ok, so I have what I think is a MC2100/50. BUT! It has absolutely NO markings!!! So I guess I don't know what I have. So I went and picked up a Holley 2300 series #7448-1. It's a 350cfm 2 barrel with an electric choke.
Problems:
#1) The throttle linkage is designed to pull back, not down.
I have a linkage adapter from the previous carb, but I haven't sized it for fit yet. I'd love to hear any other ideas of how people have solved this problem before.
#2) The throttle linkage contacts the booster vacuum line.
It only hits by like 1/16". I've considered modifying the linkage to allow for the clearance. Or, I could buy a taller spacer... Haven't decided yet. Ideas?
#3) The electric choke isn't hooked up.
I don't think the CJ7 came with an electric choke. Do I just supply the thermostat with +12V? It has a ground wire already attached to the carb housing... and yes... I'm going to make sure it's a solid ground!
I'll take any and all ideas and let you all know what I settled on and how!
OH! ...and BTW, It does run! Idles high, but it runs and I haven't adjusted anything yet!
Thanks
Vince
