New carb

Just installed new eddy carb. Problem, the throttle cable is about a quarter inch too short, won't let the carb drop down to idle. Any ideas?

might need to move the mounts or linkage around a little to make it work. Is there another hole the linkage can fit into on the carb?

It was actually a massive vacuum leak. The lever was returning enough, but there was a plug in the back that accepted an Allen stud. After I plugged it up, she ran great!
