hi thre any tricks to removing the front rotors from my CJ7 ive got the wheel off but the roitor will not budge. it has been sitting this way for 2 years and then i got it. i need to redo the front brakes and that incldes the front rotors. any thoughts appreciated

You need a manual, if you go to the site links on this forum they have an 82 manual that you can use/ download/ print, thats the best place to start.

you need to take the whole hub off and knock the wheel studs out to seperate them. They do NOT just slip over the studs like many new cars.

How do we get the hub off? We took the locking mechanism off and accessed the internal components. Do we need to take the internal spindle nut off in order to remove the hub?

I recently purchased a 1984 CJ7 . It has the original dark (forest) green paint.
According to CarFax it apparently spent it's first ten years as a US Government vehicle... perhaps a Forest Service jeep?
I saw your posting. Curious if the green used on your Jeep was dark or rather light?
I am trying to guess which department of government would have used this Jeep with it's dark green paint color....
Thanks.
