I have to disagree with that, most of the weight is up front. I have a 6 leaf Alcan pack up front and a 4 leaf BDS pack in the rear.

I think for towing a larger pack would go in the rear for tongue weight. Stock YJ'S came with 4 leaf front and 5 0r 6 leaf rears. The 6 leaf rear is a heavy duty option.

That is correct bigger pack to the rear. When I did mine I put the rears in the front. Stock capacity was 650# four leaf ,840# four leaf, 765# 5 leaf and 1080# 5 leaf. I would guess 4 vs 6 cylinder and with or without towing package . Those are chryslers numbers not mine don't shoot the messenger .
