OK I know that on my 73 CJ5 it calls for a different windshield frame than the 76 and newer. But I have perfect 76 or newer and I have crappy cracked 73 frame. So I measured them and found that they are maybe a quarter of an inch difference from driver to passenger side. I know the newer windshield leaned back more and that may be a problem bc of the roll bar. But is it doable to put the newer one on the older? Also can I use the newer brackets that is for the newer windshield on my jeep tub. If I do use the newer one, I know that tops may not ever fit right, but thats fine b/c I'm only ever going to use is a Bikini Top. I just want to make sure I know what I'm doing before I fab this to work. I also know that the motor is made inside on the newer and outside on the older, can I use the older motor off my windshield or do I need to buy one for the newer windshield, and will it hook up and work. Thanks ahead of time I know I've said it before but I'm hoping to take some more pics. and get them posted up. I'm just a Little everywhere with this thing right now. :o

Yes, it will bolt on. You may have to tweak the holes a little to align. Yes, the top is not going to fit. The new (76) and up are not as wide (55") as the (75) and lower (59"). You will also have to drill holes in the dash to receive the windshield supports, they are farther to the outside than the older one. I'm sure I'm missing something.......oh yes, the wiper motors are on the inside. The switches are a little different. The newer have four wire I believe, with intermittent? (But you can wire it to make the two speed work)

I'm bolting an 84 to my 75......

I thank you greatly I'm working on her all day on fri and sat, so i'm planning on putting this windshield on and hopefully cutting some rot and starting to get her ready to put the engine and tranny back in. I figured it need soem tweaking but would work thanks again :notworthy:
