So, I bought a YJ windscreen which came with the whole wiper system. But, when I tried to install normal wiper blades, the wiper arms were too wide for the blade clip.

Are the YJ wiper arms all like this? or did I get a super-weird pair?

You think if I get new YJ wiper arms they would fit standard wiper blades?

Thanks YJ buddies! :chug:

On my YJ, the wiper arms had the hook type attachment for the blades and any universal set of blades from any auto parts store worked. You may want to take one of your current ones to a parts place to compare to the new one before you buy a new arm, just in case they are not any different.

I honestly wish I could use YJ wiper arms on my CJ. Maybe I need to get a YJ windshield and wiper linkage just so that I can.

Good luck.

Well, the YJ linkage requires the YJ motor... the one area that might be a big problem is where the connectors stick through the windscreen frame (the nibs the arms connect to). You might just wanna get a YJ windscreen... But, then the dash screws won't line up and there'll be the bolt areas for the extended roll bar (of the YJ).

Another thing I thought of was just taking the CJ arm and welding or riveting a new arm upper (wouldn't matter what make of car it came from).

I have had that same thought. And if my Trico blades keep breaking on me, I am going to do just that.
