In my other thread I had a bunch of lighting issues and they were pretty much resolved by ATTACHING the parking lights to the body. Who da thunk it.
I am starting a new thread because I need the best opinions on how to solve my last two issues.. The proverbial fuel and temp gauges.
Here is recap of what I know.
The temp gauge worked before I took everything apart.
I bought a new gas sending unit and a new temp sending unit.
A circuit test inside the sending unit cap (pink wire) and the temp sending unit cap(purple!) make the light blink.
My son-in-law did the "cross something" behind the fuel gauge and it slowly rose to the F.
I believe we tested the ground from the fuel sending unit under the body.
The only thing I am not sure we checked is how well the speedometer is grounded against the newly painted dash. Well, it still has the bare threads with the dome nuts to ground to.
I just don't know what to suspect.
I will probably buy a temp gauge tomorrow and try it since the temp is what I really need to monitor.
Sorry if this was bad etiquette to start a new thread, but I was afraid it would get missed at the bottom of the other one.
Cheers
