I just (finally) picked up my YJ tub for my CJ. It's not in as good a shape as I had anticipated (Craigslist deal), but it is better than what I have and is certainly worth what I paid for it, plus the gas and time hauling it.

The only question I have about tubs is what kind of reinforcement is supposed to be under the floor section of the tub? I want to make sure when I replace the floor I have the necessary support under there.

What I need now is a good discussion on how to proceed with the removal of my existing tub. I've been told to "get after it" and to take a gazillion photos with corresponding notes and baggie all fasteners, etc. Great advice that I will certainly use. But that said, where do I start? What have you all learned from doing these? What's the "best practice" in doing these.

I'll be able to save one fender, the hood and the windshield; but the rest is being scrapped.

I'll even take a phone call if it would be easier. PM me for my number.

Thanks in advance...:notworthy:

My came as a rolling chassis and didn't have much in the tub to remove, but I think (correct me if I'm wrong) your looking at removing a handfull of bolts that connect the frame to the tub braces. The PO starting removing them and all I have left is three,

I started from the front to the back when I swapped mine out. so the hood, the fenders wiring harness off th firewall, then the steering column, the dash with its wire harness still attached, heater core, master cylinder, parking brake, then go over the firewall to make sure you didnt miss anything. gut the interior seats first, pull off your tranny shifter and Transfer Case shifter, then remove your body mount bolts and pull your bare tub, one of the members here has his own website documenting his tub swap certifiablejeep.com - Third Project Build-up - Conclusions
