Noise suppression

So I'm starting to rebuild a 86 CJ and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on noise suppression.

I once had an 84 CJ7 and I remember very distinctly how very loud the cabin was when I was bouncing down the road.

Don't get me wrong I expect some road noise but I was hopping to reduce it some with maybe a secondary lining under the carpet and in the hardtop.

Any suggestions?
I had though about some type of acoustic tile or maybe cork but I'd like to put it on the floor as well so it has to take a bit of moisture.

The humm of the 35's , the wind blowing in your face when going topless and the smell of fresh exhaust fumes. Only in a CJ. Carpet in a CJ :down:

Eastwood has a house brand that is a bit cheaper? I used some on the firewall is all so far... At least on the CJ, I did my HHR floorboards and it did knock down the noise.

MT Baha 35's, AMC 304 with short exhausts ported ahead of the rear tires, open all the time except in summer when only Mad Dogs and Englishmen Go Out in the Midday Sun down here at 30N 89.5W.

People talk of what speakers.......... I don't even know if the radio plays - I've never heard it. A Jeep is for the outdoors. Just dress for the climate as if your were going out in a strong gale, and you should be OK, even in Michigan, or along the Gulf Coast in summer, for that matter. Bless me, but I'll be glad when October comes around again!

You know excalty what I mean. I store the cj in the winter so thats not a issue. Go topless all summer. Its a CJ thing !
