Curious about what pressure everyone's running "aired down".

You are looking for a tire pressure that still keeps good ground clearance without popping a bead. When I need really good traction, I will air my 35s down to 8 lbs. and havn't had any issues. I would think an aluminum wheels help also.

I usually run with 10 psi, on 33s, I'll have to try 8 next time...

I ran 8 to 10lb's in my 33 x 12.5's on black steel wheels (10 inch wide) with no problems.

Thanks guys! I was just trying to get opinions.

I run about 5 or 6 in my 35s on steel.

I typically run 5-8.

I have a set of new PB tires I haven't run yet. Had them mounted and set the pressure at 20lbs. Three weeks later I took a visual check on all 4 tires, all looked good with the same foot print. When I checked the air pressure three of the 4 were still at 20lbs the 4th one had a valve leak and was at 0 pressure. The side wall is so stiff it looked like the other three tires at 20 lbs.

There is no question about side wall strength however, it comes at the expense of flexibility these tires will take about a year or so to break in.

10lbs. I have done less but find that I sometimes burp air on harder obstacles.

Had a buddy that busted himself up pretty bad when he broke the bead off camber and rolled. He thought it was cool to run 6-8 PSI. I feel pretty good about 15 in 33" bias ply's:cool:

I and some friends have flopped and it sucks because you usually know you are pushing the limit, but losing a bead in a bad spot is scary.

I stopped airing below ten after burping the air a couple times. And seeing a friend lose a bead in sand.

10lbs is my hard trail pressure and 15 or even 18 if moderate or long dirt trails with any speed.

Thanks for all the input.
