My 81' CJ7 's oil presure is all over the map. It normally runs between 15-25 but sometimes will go all the way below 5. After running at high speeds it will get up to 55 or so while slowing down and after the first few seconds of being stopped. I'm currently running Shell Rotella T with less than 1 quart of the Lucas oil stabilizer. Is it more likely a bad sensor, pump or is my engine screwed?

This sounds like an oil pressure sending unit problem...or just a loose wire on the sender itself.
What you are looking for is a small bell shaped item on the passengerside of the block with a single wire coming out of the top...:D

:agree:

My 81 J-10 did this and it drove me crazy, or at least crazier. the connector was not making good contact with the stud on the sending unit. Mashed it just a hair, with vice grips, so as not to totally crush it , and it worked great from then on. I hope this works for you too.
