I have a 1980 CJ with a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l six (which I am replacing). New AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l six cylinder engine came without the nipple to install the spin on oil filter. Sent the old core back for refund before I noticed, now I do not have a means to install the oil filter.

Found the nipple at Summitt. (yaaay)
Next thing......
The engine rebuild manual shows a pressure release valve, spring and a retainer that goes into the block at the filter location and they are not on the new block either.
Question: Since new oil filters have the pressure valve buit-in is the spring valve and retainer needed anymore?

Found information that the oil bypass valve, spring and retainer must be installed on the new block.
Does anyone know of a vendor or an individual that might sell these?
