I am in need of a new wiper motor. I find no options to the original although I think the original is a bit under powered and I am glad snow is not a big problem for me.

the question is of the Limited number of after market vendors which has the best record for quality. Crown, Omix -ada or Cardone??

this is an opinion pole and please share experience, good and bad.:D

Crown is the best in my opinion. I have had problems with omix ada and havent ordered anything through cardone.

Make sure there is no binding in the linkage also. As for what brand, I usually go with what is easiest to get.

I wouldn't even consider Omix. I'd try the cardone only because there stuff isn't to bad, but I've never used any thing electrical from them.

As it turns out the closest place to find a motor is not going to be my local parts house.

I have just about decided the crown looks most promising. At least it says it is all new parts. maybe they were manufactured and assembled by slave labor on some pacific rim Island. They also offer the best warranty, for what ever that s worth. :D

When you install your new w/w motor, I would suggest adding a ground wire from the motor to the battery negative or close to it. They are currently grounded to the windshield, and thats a hard way for electrical current to travel thru all that assembly.

Crown is the better choice you gave from my experience, omix is of zero value to me and would buy a used original before any of that junk.
....well you did ask.:D

Crown seems to be good stuff. Haven't had any issues with them that I can remember.

As far as A1 Cardone is concerned, it's really hit or miss with them and electrical parts.
I've had some of their new parts be bad right out of the box (3 mass air sensors actually).

Don't recall using Omix much, if at all. The brand name doesn't stick out.

For what it's worth, I'm a professional mechanic so I install a lot more parts than your average guy.

:chug:

I did find it local, sort of. Orielly ordered a Cordone rebuilt for me. I kind of like the idea of being to get someone by the shirt collar if there are problems. we shall see.:D

I was so frazzled today after spending $50 on a door striker plate kit. The parts are Crown, made in China and not worth the powder to blow them up. The screw holes line up terribly and I had to add a spacer behind the pin to get the door to even begin to try to close. Neither have enough pin adjustment to get the doors to close correctly. The hard top seal I got was bad and I threw in the trash, I was damn tempted to do the same with these parts. Im remembering all over again why I gave up wrenching years ago. Same :dung: with the bikes, Junk parts from China. Sad state of affairs here in the states as we sell second rate parts we could make 100% better, but just wont. NOS stuff where are you????

Both Crown and Omix are last resorts IMHO. In many cases they are identical :dung: parts.

Cardone isn't that great either but give the choices its probably the way to go, but again, it might be the same part as Crown/Omix at this point.

Tried ebay for a used pull?
