Im just beginning my OBA system using a AC compressor (not a York), question I have is with the moisture trap. Have you had any of them melt due to the heat given off by the compressor? I have been told that the heat generated will more than likely melt the air drier in the moisture trap. Any advise appreciated.

I've had them melt before. It helps to have a bit of distance from the compressor output and the drier. At the moment I don't have one. Nice thing about living in a drier state.

I have had a Sanden oem style air compressor in mine for around 15 or so years now and yeah, that sucker does get too hot to touch. To keep the water out that is formed from compressing air, I have a 5 gal. air tank located under the body, with an air inlet located on one side and the air outlet on the other. I seems to work fairly well to keep water out of the tires, and there is a oil and water drain on the bottom. The pump also has a lubricating system where most of the a/c oil is filtered out prior to going into the air tank and sent back into the compressor.
