Well, to say I'm jealous would be a MAJOR UNDERSTATEMENT! :punk:
What a GREAT find on your part. :chug:
Didn't Bill D say that till you pick it up, he's letting 'student-drivers' borrow it to learn about drive'n a stick? :poke:

You don't live out East! Maybe things have changed but when I was in Maryland stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, just the insurance on a vehicle out there was another car payment. (1986) Everything was very expensive, I think worse than California.

IIRC, Bill told me the 2a lived in Ca for awhile then moved back to CO. He also said it was in good shape.

I saw the 2a for sale on CL with a 8274 mounted on the front. They were being sold as a unit, but I gave it a shot and contacted the seller to see if he would be willing to let just the winch go. After some discussion we worked out a price of $250 and Bill picked it up yesterday.

Note: the dash is custom metal

I don't have any pics of my 71, the seller took down the ad and the link he sent me with all the pics is dead.

That top looks almost new.
What a great find in the Jeep world! :notworthy:

Thanks LG, I'm excited to get my hands on it, but technically Bill owns this Jeep and warn winch being their in his procession and he has the title. :D

I'm guessing the color is candle light yellow, Bill told me it came with an unopened gallon of factory paint. The seller was kind enough to give me the lot for 2k under his asking price. The day before Bill picked up the jeep the seller told me he had a lot of calls on it.

No kid'n, he would get a lot of calls about this JEEP.
Good thing that I didn't see it before you. :poke:
Posi-You really need to start buy'n all the Lotto tickets you can. :D
LG

Haha yeah, the only reason I have it was because I saw the ad and responded 20 mins after he listed.

I'm really starting to think about using ( what I'm going to dub the Posi-method ) this manner of buying a Cj for the Rubicon trail ride. It seems to work well for Posi. :chug:

And the 'hook' has been 'set'. :poke:

POSI, Congrats !! another '71 owner again. Didn't you have a Renegade II also that you sold? .Cool that you got all the extra's and a winch to boot.
Need pictures when you have time and get it home. How about a Renegade II tribute built ha ha ! mike

A coworker used to say " you got to strike will the iron is hot"

Posi, thankyou for the story on the Renegade II. A snowplow! who would of thought. We don't have hardly any plows here in the NW.Maybe a few,but mostly government or for hire. thanks again.

I like to give Bill D a big thanks for picking up my new to me 71 CJ5 last Monday. This will be my wheeling rig for the 2017 CO trail ride.

So are you buying a different jeep for each trail ride? :p

It would have cost me close to $2000 to ship my Jeep out and back for the last CO trail ride. Without going into details, financially it was wiser decision for me to buy a new CJ.

That may change for 2017 CO trail ride because I found an independent driver to haul my CJ, this cuts out the middle man (broker) and his fee.

I'd be happy to go over the details next year at Handlebars over an Alaskan ale and elk burger. :)

I agree. New cars depreciate quickly but a 45 year old jeep is done depreciating. Now it depends on the condition of the jeep. If you find a good deal and spend a little time making it run good, I think it's easy to turn a profit.

mmmm....elkburger....
