I have a 79 CJ7 . the passenger side brake/blinker light is not working. I have reverese lights, and the driver side works fine for brakes and blinker. The light does come on when you turn on the lights, but it is dimmer than the driver side. Does anyone know what or where I should look? I am figuring a grounding issue, but I am not the best electrical trouble shooting kind of person?

ok. on most vehicles the wireing for brakes hits the driver side first then goes to the passenger side so tracing it there is not hard
the biggest reasons for the light to be dim though are a bad ground of a bad bulb
swap bulbs, if that does not work, clean up the ground connection, if that does not work, replace the fixture.

if you look at what is most probably happening is the ground is really bad causing resistance, in a series circuit r1 plus r2 =rt. in other words the total resistance is the light and the amount of resistance the bad ground is giving it. so the brightness of the bulb is affected
or it could be 2 different wattage's of bulbs
but I think cleaning up the ground will be the key
remember a Jeep uses its tub as a ground, so a little rust or corrosion where they meet goes a long long way

X2 on checking the ground and the fixture. More than likely a bad ground.
