Hello,
I'm going through my first Jeep (1981 CJ5 ) to get her ready for spring. Working on some electrical, instrument and HVAC issues. It's going well but I have a question about the vent door for the passenger fresh air. I can't get it to close. I think it moves as it should but when the cable is pulled all the way tight the door is at only about 45 degrees. I need to say was. After trying to put the it on differently with the flat in the two ways it could go I got impatient and just forced the door around the rod and made it stop where the door was all the way closed. Today I wish I hadn't done that because I don't think it will last.
Has anyone here had and solved this issue in a good way? I'm thinking that I may have had the wrong rod for that door. All the other doors in the vent/heat system work as they should.
The other problem I'm having is with the air, heat, off controls. They get stuck pretty bad in the middle. I'm thinking now I may just leave this set with a little fresh air coming in to keep the resistor cool but not too much for the heater to heat.
Thanks
