It's Friday! As the title says I am picking up an 84 in the next week. Spent 3 weeks looking at a ton of Jeeps. My search was for a wide track, wanted a factory AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l , decent shape, manual, as much ORIGINAL (not modded)as possible and a hardtop/doors as a bonus. I got most of my wants except it is factory 4cyl, I will be swapping for a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l or AMC 304 (undecided plus it will be a while before I get to that point. It is a 84 CJ7 , original drive train and all with the only mod is a 2" lift. Comes with hardtop and bikini top, 3 sets of doors(hard, soft and tube). The expected amount of rust but overall good. The hardtop lift and storage bracket and tow bars as well. Engine is bad but rest is all ok. I will be doing a frame off rebuild, I do not say "restoration" since I will be changing some original items. Quetion; other than the motor, mounts, wiring, etc. was there any difference in suspension, drive train, etc. between the 4cyl and the 6cyl from the factory? I know the changes needed to convert to the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l and the AMC 304 but wasn't sure if there was any other differences. Stay tuned and once I get it in the garage I will start a build thread. It will most likely be boring and too detailed since I'm the type to spend 2 evenings blasting, sanding, wire whelling and dremeling every crevice of the Transfer Case while I have it apart to rebuild. I will be rebuilding every componet(tranny, axles, differentials, etc) anything that is shot will be replaced. Replacing all bolts, bushings and misc parts. Looking forward to the year down!

I live in the inlet as well owned dozens of jeeps have lots of parts. Be glad to help any way i can.

Thanks for the offer!! Once I get everything started I'll be in touch. I'll buy you a cold one at Wahoos and we can discuss..
