In less then 2 weeks most of the crew will be in Colorado Springs. Bobby and Blacky will leave on the 12th or 13th and drive from the east coast to Maob UT.
We have 3 days to wrench on our Jeeps (mostly my Jeep). Three day will give us some breathing room compared to last year when we had only 2 days to do the following:
one piece axle shafts
front and rear lockers
upgraded ignition system
mount 4 new tires
motor, Transmission , tcase, diffs, radiator, and master cylinder flush and change
diagnose and repair faulty brake light
I'm sure there is more I missed
This year we have 3 days to:
clutch install
flywheel resurface
install twin sticks
install 2 sets of wheel spacers
Dash electrical work
Front driveshaft
tailgate gasket
Motor oil change
check and re-torque all undercarriage bolts on all rigs present.
Saturday Bill, D will lead us on a shake down run in Colorado Springs on a trail to be decided. We may even get to wheel Friday if things go well.

I hate to have to say it, but my daughter called me and told me that they just have too much to do on their new house, and costs keep going up. So, it looks like Jenny and Mike will not be able to join us in Moab this year. 
I told her to start saving weekly for next years trip.

I was looking forward to meeting them, but I understand. It sounds like they were really excited to go so I know they will wheel with us when the timing is right for them.

Yes. Please document the wrenching and wheeling of this trip. I love to read about this stuff. I can't make it this year, But hoping that you do it again next year and I can adjust my travel plans to make it.

Getting our new used Winter vehicle ready for the trip. New tires, radiator, all fluids and filters changed and a good cleaning. Also extra fuel can and jack mounted on the Jeep.
