Planning the 5th Annual Colorado Jeep-CJ Trail Ride
I'm putting it this on the list of things to do this summer. Will have to see how the plan comes together. I should know for sure if i'm in or out by the end of the month.

Oh yeah, We won't be able to get there until Sunday night due to my work schedule. Can't quite make 1400 miles in one day!

Awesome! Glad you all plan to make it. This will be great.

Good to hear your coming :chug:

OK, I just ordered lockers, a Tera low kit, (drive shafts later this week) and more parts than I even want to think about! ...
Yes! I wanted my husband to be a jeeper...But he is going further with this than I ever thought... I'm NOT complaining - just surprised at how he has taken to this. A lot of has to do with the great time we had on this trip last year and the folks that made it so much fun.

Dave, 007, Posi, and 007's friend all made this possible. And of course all of those on the forum that support and encourage us. I thank you all!!

One thing I would like to add regarding lodging. We stayed at the Box Canyon Lodge because I gave up too soon last year and cancelled our reservation at the Rivers Edge. After driving around town and seeing where you have to park a big truck and trailer I think there was more parking for our rig where we stayed. All the places I talked with said they have parking - but for a long rig these are pretty much all on the side streets which is first come access. Just something to think about if you have a very long truck/trailer. Many places seemed nice to me.

Hey look at who's coming. (click on the numbers in the poll) The same crowd that participated in last years trail ride are the ones that say they are committed to this years ride. That's good news. I had a blast last year and it's because of those that showed up.

I think this is going to be another great year. :chug:

Well I can't tell you how appreciative I am of you being able to do it again this year Dave. I've no doubt it will be another fantastic week. I genuinely hope that those who are on the fence are able to find a way to make it.

I'm booked at the River's Edge until Wednesday then I booked Thursday and Friday at Chalet Inn.

I tried to book the whole week at the River's Edge, but no rooms available at the lower internet rate of $100 (up $11 from last year). You can only book for 3 days at the lower rate, the only rooms available after Wednesday is $126. The rooms at Chalet Inn go $89 and up.

I see CJ is coming this trip. Very cool!!:chug:

The rates didn't go up. This year's trail ride is during the tourist season. It's busier, motels are fuller and there are more jeeps on the trails. I think that's a good thing. There are some that couldn't make it later in the year.
Make your motel reservations NOW!
You don't want to be sleeping in your jeep.

I've got Carribean cruise and Hawaii trip both early this year...

On the other hand I finally have a tow rig (2006 F-350 diesel)...

We will see what I can swing.

:chug:

I hope you can make it, be a "perfecta" for ya.

I have hotel reservations, a plane flight and a rig that I will be the passenger, aka the "winch biatch"...

Cannot wait! :chug:

Day4-14%20Poughkeepsie%20Gulch_zpsfkqoqksx.jpg

Friday the 31st is a travel day to head back home.

These plans are tentative and can change depending on participant feedback.
With the exception of Poughkeepsie Gulch these trails can be done with a stock CJ.

I think it would be a great sight to see a bunch of old CJs parked out front. :chug:

It's Ouray, Co.! That's probably a common occurrence. I consider that area of Co. to be the Jeep capitol of the world.:D Theres probably more Jeep left in Co. than anywhere else, except maybe SoCal., I would guess. Thanks in part to C.W. McCall.:notworthy:

Got reservations at Chalet Inn. We are coming in Saturday thru Friday.

So what's the count now Dave?
