Possible Carb Issue?

I'm having issue when driving on the highway between speeds of 45-60mph. The jeep feels like it is dragging and only receiving gas intermittently. Sometimes its fine and this does not occur but several times I have experienced this drag and lack of performance.

Carb was last cleaned out about three months ago. This issue started in mid-October.

Any ideas? Carb due for new cleaning? Possible other issue? Any help would be appreciated.

Two possibilities come to mind, a bad fuel pump or the start of a ignition control module going bad, both will get worse. Having spares for both might be a good idea anyway. Fuel pump pressure can be checked, minumum 4 p.s.i., to eliminate that possibility. The icm will get hot to the touch when it goes bad. Carb idle jets have a history of clogging, they can be cleaned or drilled out.

This should be verified while the problem is happening. 4 psi at idle doesn't mean you have it when it is acting up. I tee in a gauge and line at the carb inlet and secure the gauge to a wiper arm. That way, I can see what fuel pressure is when it acts up.
