Power steering install

1979 CJ5 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l would like to install power steering, there is a smog pump where I believe the power steering pump should go???

- 83 CJ 8, 258 I6, T19, 4-1 Dana 300,4.0 Head, Mopar MPI, 10k winch, OME YJ springs w/3" lift,CS 144 Alt upgrade,Locked 20 & 30, Border Collie co-pilots are stock.
A pic might help us some. What side is the air pump on? Drivers side should be the side for the PS pump and passenger side for the air pump.

Thanks, that helps, I may have made an inaccurate assumption, I thought my last '82 CJ7 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l had the steering pump on the drivers side, maybe it's a non issue!

The PS pump IS on the drivers side, as mentioned above...
