problem with fuel supply

i just had the motor rebuild,the problem is i installed a electric fuel pump next to the gas tank,it doesn't pump fuel unless i pull a vacuum .the tank is ok.do i have a problem with the batt.i only have a generator on it.

where exactly did you install the pump, and what type did you use?
Some pumps are designed for pushing, and some are designed for pulling the fuel.
Either way the pump must be installed as near level to the bottom of the tank as possible.

There also should be a large fuel filter on the suction side.This offers protection and resevour for the pump when started.

I put it just in front of the fuel tank on the frame about the lower part of tank,It is a Bosch.
