Good luck on the build.

Yup, non QuadraTrac are centered but have a QuadraTrac w/o low range which is something I prefer to have and I already have the axles that I built some years back but need some refreshing. My main reason for wanting a 300 was I like the idea of being able to twin stick it and from doing some research found that you can flip therm pretty easily, or I have an np241 sitting in my garage that I can rebuild that is already driver drop. I hate having choices.

One thing to also keep in mind, if you convert a CJ to driver side drop with a 300 t'case flip kit or driver drop t'case, is that you may have to relocate the entire powertrain centerline. I don't know if it applies to all CJ's, but both of mine have the powertrain offset to the driver side to allow for front driveshaft clearance of the Transmission . If you stick with the GM Turbo 400 I can pretty much guarantee you will have to address this as the front driveshaft comes awfully close to the Transmission oil pan, even with the offset. I am not sure if anyone makes off the shelf motor mounts that are designed for drivers drop application or not, so you might have to fab some custom ones to move everything over to the passenger side.

Thanks for the heads up. I wonder if swapping the motor mount sides would make a difference? Looks like I have some more measuring to do on my future.

So went to continue working on my Team Rush upgrade and my plug for the distributor wiring looks as bad as everything else on this heap. My question is the plug to separate pieces or just the blades that slide in? 20170222_192250_zpsg700lp74.jpg

And since I was struck on that I decided to mess with my evap cannister that was hooked up to nothing, figured can't hurt to have all the stuff hooked up that's supposed to be. So I took it apart and cleaned it. I think the bottom filter was just held together with mud.

Am I missing a piece where the distributor port is?

it should not be separate blades it should be a plug, you need a new istributor pick up https://www.summitracing.com/parts/cwa-83500409/applications

yes you are missing a piece, i cannot remember what year model but the canisters from Jeep Cherokees look very similar and are interchangable with the original CJ canister

Awesome, thanks for the help. Have to love the fact that the piece in missing has do not remove printed on it.

Yeah, that stuff is crowding in on amazing. A thorough degreasing first makes a world of difference. Hit that part with a little acetone and yer ready for primer and paint!!

Trying to find a replacement egr valve and there's a lot of options so how do I know which one is right. Napa's website shows about seven different ones ranging in price from around 55 to 100+. They list what factory part they replaced but when I looked up the part# on mine it came back as being for an 82 up Chevy so no luck there and I'm back to not knowing what my factory part should be for my 78 AMC 304 .
