- 1979 Jeep CJ5 with 304 V8, T18 Transmission, Dana 20 Transfer case with TeraLow 3:1 gears, 4.88 axle gears, Detroit Locker up front and Ox Locker in back with 1 piece axle shafts, 36" SuperSwamper SX Tires, Shackle reversal, MileMarker Hydraulic winch, MSD 6A ignition.
True but that battery cable on the starter solenoid is a common place to get a constant 12 volts. I don't know why anyone would want to supply 12 volts to something only when the starter is turning.There should be three or four terminals on the starter solenoid, the only one to always be powered is the large one connected to the battery. The other large terminal goes to the starter. One small terminal is connected to the start switch to engage the solenoid.
