Question about roll bar install?

Okay I have my tub Raptor lined, new seats, found yj family roll bar to replace factory one (85 CJ7 ) it's painted and I was wondering what to put under the mounting brackets before I put it in if anything at all?

I just mounted mine right on the bed liner. So far so good 6 years later.

Same here and that's more than AMC did, Mine was unpainted in between.

Okay then nothing it is. Thanks. Also as a side note the holes DO NOT line up exactly.

They make a black seam sealer. I was thinking about running a bead around my floor mounts to keep water from getting trapped under them causing rot.
