Question: Return to Carb from Fuel Injection
I have purchased my first CJ5 (1980 with a 6 cylinder and first generation Holly fuel injection). I want to return the jeep back to a 2B carburetor. The current system is ok - the jeep now runs and drives good, but is not reliable; i.e. the fuel injection system is not computerized (manually tuned), the electric fuel pump and control module are no longer available, as well as some of the other smaller component parts. Gas mileage is about 8 MPG. Bottom line... concern is that if I break down and really need assistance, I will wish I had modified this jeep. That said:
What 2 barrel carb and tricks would one recommend to return this rig to stock plus (reliability)? Specific brand and source?
Any special fuel pump issues (as the original one was removed and block plated?
