Maybe I'm a little paranoid now but hey radiators aren't cheap. Is 1 and 1/4 inch enough clearance between the fan and radiator. Seems closer than I remember it to be. If it's not I can go back to the 4 blade and gain some more clearance until I go electric.

I am with you. Had issues and am gun shy myself. I slid my radiator mounting sides into the grill to give myself and extra 1/4 to 1/2 inch.

I wouldn't want any more clearance from the front of the fan to the radiator than 1".
This is why it's so important that the engine and tranny mounts be in top shape.

With the fan clutch fins at 1 1/4" -RUN IT.
Where's your shroud? :D
BTW-Dang good pictures. :notworthy:

Stock body mounts?
If their more then 1" over stock I would be concerned with offroad flex.
Ive herd the fan hit the rad while spotting a buddy going over an obstacles.

I'm run'n a 1" body lift and M.O.R.E. engine and tranny mount. Never had an issue.

Ok, so that wouldn't be over 1" stock body lift.

Yeah stuck body mounts , poly motor and Transmission mounts. I probably won't go off road till I put a Contour fan on just in case.

Ok, good

LG, my original post references anything taller then a 1" over stock BL = 2" or 3" BL.

Posi-That's what I figured.
:chug:

Here is mine - it was at about 1" and trying to go up an almost vertical 4' step it somehow caught the radiator and cut it wide open. My engine never runs hot and I'm in the northeast. I haven't had any issues with 2" but agree it is further away then recommended. I run poly mounts with no body lift.

Thanks Woolly. Now I know what I'd gain if I went back to the fixed 4 blade I have in the garage. I think Id get the same clearance. That's a 7 blade with no clutch? Where did the mount come from? Boy that makes me feel a lot more comfortable. I think I'm going to swap and see for myself. Thanks for the pic. :chug:

Yes. The mount came from oriellys.

Mount was kind of a poor word. You got the aluminum spacer at Orileys? Hmm. Gonna have to look into that.
