1998 Grand Cherokee Limited 5.9 liter , and 1993 Grand Cherokee Limited 5.2 , which is currently under the knife. Getting a Dana 60 rear, and HP Dana 44 out of a 78 F-250

CJ, I am not putting gas on the fire, I just think this was a little riduculous from someone new that has experiece on forums.
So, actually, IMO, this should have been to Dave as well, he is a very well respected member here and has helped many, many people.
And just so you know, it may be cool to the XJ guys that know you, but your name alone sounds like you were here to make trouble. We really don't know, maybe take pride in being 2rude, or maybe there is a legit reason for called 2rude. But you were very upset that he questioned you, yet you were doing the same to someone else. Albeit you were passing along info, if that seller really didn't know better or was sold on thinking it was special, you are now defaming him.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not sticking up for this guy and have no idea if he is legit or not and we've all seen people overpay before, but unless you are the Ebay police you might be overstepping your boundaries.
Now on topic.... I'm sure you know, there are all kinds of options and packages from the factory or dealers doing special editions. This has and still continues to confuse people. As a matter of fact, Dave and a couple of others guys are working on a thread for those to be identified and I am sure it is no easy task.
"And just so you know, it may be cool to the XJ guys that know you, but your name alone sounds like you were here to make trouble."
ZJ! ZJ guys!, not XJ (Never owned one, and know very little about them, other than the front axles are a direct swap to a ZJ or TJ.)
"But you were very upset that he questioned you, yet you were doing the same to someone else."
I wouldn't say I was upset, more dumbfounded than anything, that anyone
could actually misconstrue my initial post into an endorsement, or
"sales pitch" for a Jeep I referred to as a "s hitbox" twice.
If that wasn't enough, the simile between a "Dealer installed" 401 in a CJ
and a Yenko Camaro (Which was a dealer modified vehicle, if you're not
familiar with them, Yenko Chevrolet installed factory crate 427s in place of
the 396s in brand new original Big block cars. The difference being, these
Yenkos are desirable.... I've seen them bring 200K-400K at Mecum. That's
right, close to half a million dollars for a car that probably cost 7-8 grand
new.) This followed by the "rolling eyes" icon was pretty much a dead
giveaway.
"yet you were doing the same to someone else."
I wasn't questioning the guy on ebay, I was saying he was absolutely full of
horse poop, and was misrepresenting that vehicle and trying to pass it off
as something rare and obscure, and at a RIDICULOUS price.
" if that seller really didn't know better or was sold on thinking it was special, you are now defaming him."
He originally had it listed and described as
a FACTORY INSTALLED 401. Then he changed it to he believed it was a
"dealer installed" 401, now I just checked and I see he's edited it once again
to "According to VIN this CJ came with a AMC 304 V-8 & 4 speed Transmission . But, there is information on the web that you could SPECIAL ORDER a 401 from AMC and it could be either installed at factory, or shipped to dealer for install there."
That makes three times in the last 3 days that his story has changed.
It'd be my guess that he's either a member here, or one of his buddies is
and turned him onto this post. Anyways, should he file a defamation suit
I have "screen caps" of his listing and his previous descriptions, prior

Thanks Baja, Funny you mention this. I'm currently trying to find such a database. Surely as popular as the CJs are this information has to be available somewhere.

The Super Wagoneer was the top level option package for the Wagoneer from 1966 to 1969. They used a slightly more powerful version of the AMC 327 than was installed in the base model. Though Kaiser switched to the Buick 350 in 1968 for all models. By the time AMC bought out Kaiser, the Super Wagoneer had been discontinued.
After I hit sent on this post, I thought I should have just asked CJ to delete the derogatory part like my local site does, as this may be done. But OK, I'll play.
Your "experience" is showing again, you posted a good post, then you decided to read the whole thread after being bored and broken footed and posted up again.

ZJ! ZJ guys!, not XJ (Never owned one, and know very little about them, other than the front axles are a direct swap to a ZJ or TJ.) I knew what it said as I assume most everyone here did.

Dumbfounded to moron still sounds "upset." BTW You to misconstrued my post regarding XJ ^^^.

I actually read this same thread that compared the Yenko and the myth of the CJ 401 on another site. Although, I am not really interested in that unless someone wants to sell me one really cheap
"yet you were doing the same to someone else." I wasn't questioning the guy on ebay, I was saying he was absolutely full of horse poop, and was misrepresenting that vehicle and trying to pass it off as something rare and obscure, and at a RIDICULOUS price. There are at least three listings online right now that all say factory (or dealer) 401 from 5k to 18k. I might just start calling and asking for VIN numbers or paperwork. Although highly unlikely, it would be nice if there were one of those legendary Jeeps out there and I could sell it for 400k
" if that seller really didn't know better or was sold on thinking it was special, you are now defaming him." He originally had it listed and described as a FACTORY INSTALLED 401. Then blah blah blah. Anyways, should he file a defamation suit I have "screen caps" of his listing and his previous descriptions, prior to him editing them : ) The point was, he may not have realized it wasn't factory, someone may have snowed him
