I was wondering if i went this direction and rattle can painted my jeep would you use a gloss or satin finish paint?

I have actually seen a few good rattle can jobs. It's all about the prep.
Both went with satin clear coats and a cut and buff.

That was Krylon "Fusion" from Lowes.

Does anyone have an ideal of what size compressor and tank it would take to use a HVLP gun that uses 4.5 cfm @ 40psi? To paint my jeep

Biggest thing you will run into with any compressor especially a smaller one will be moisture in the line unless you put in line dryers. Also 49 psi is pretty high for painting.

Sry fat fingers that should've said 40 not 49

So if i understand the cfm thing if I'm painting at 26 to 28 psi the cfm would be higher if its 4.5 cfm @ 40?
Lower pressure equals more cfm?

High-volume, low-pressure (HVLP) spray guns typically use between 15–26 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of air. However, the exact amount depends on the model of the spray gun, with smaller guns needing less CFM than larger ones.

HVLP spray guns are often used for finer finishes and to reduce overspray. They work by atomizing paint into a soft, low-velocity pattern of particles using a high volume of air at a low pressure. The recommended air pressure for most HVLP spray guns is between 20–30 pounds per square inch (PSI).

When choosing an air compressor for an HVLP spray gun, you should consider the following factors:
CFM: The spray gun's CFM requirements will vary by model. Most professionals recommend using a compressor with at least 12 CFM.
Tank size: A tank size of at least 50 gallons is recommended for optimal results.

NAPA once did paint matching by VIN number in my area, but in recent years they gave up on it. I hit a paint shop and they wanted $95 for a spray can. Since mine is basic black I went with conventional affordable paint. After polishing it looked rather well.
