Rear shackle frame repair pieces

On Quadratec's website they say the rear section they sell is a full replacement. It looks like 3/4 of a replacement to me or is the top just cut away for illustration purposes? Anybody order thes. 3/4 will work on one side of my frame but not the other.

I just did a rear frame rail replacement 2 days ago, but I fabbed my own pieces. I'm thinking you get what you see in the illustration. Cut away the sides and bottom them weld in new piece.

Yup your right. I got confirmation from an Enay seller using the same pic

Pete, Why don't you use Posi's idea and have a piece of 3/16" plate and 1/8" plate cut and bent in the length you need. Then you have the two pieces that make the frame in the exact same size.

"The easiest way I stretched my 79 frame was to have a local shop bend 4-20pieces, 2 @1/8", 2 @ 3/16". I paid $8 each for the 4 pieces bent."

I did the ones from safe-t-cap over the winter on both sides. You cut away the sides and bottom of frame and weld in. I cut one of the caps shorter since I didn't need it to go as far forward.

I saw that. What it's going to come down to is whoever welds it. It'll be their preference. Hopefully by the time I stretch my frame I'll be a little more hands on welding wise.

I remember reading that awhile back now. Safety cap was what the EBay guy called them. Thanks for the link so I can go back and re read.

Pics of the side and bottom repair pieces I fabbed. I prefer to match the steel thickness I'm repairing 3/16" outside 1/8" inside. However, in this case I re-purposed some 1/4" plate that was on my customer's old bumper/tire carrier.

At the least I'll have to fab the top rail of the frame like you showed.
