Do ya'll have any recommendations for headers &/or exhaust that might make my 84 CJ8 a bit more responsive? Its already got a fully rebuilt AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l , as well as a Holley 2 barrel. Seems to seems to have stock exhaust system with no cat or 02 sensors.

Here are some products I am considering:

Hedman Hedders 6 In 1 Standard Duty Uncoated 99610

Flowmaster Exhaust - Mufflers - Performance Exhaust - Performance Parts - 4WD.com

EDIT: I forgot to mention - my driving style is "sporty" and the vehicle is used mostly around town and on the highway. Exclusively actually, as I have replaced lifted suspension with stock and gone from 32 mudders to 235 street tires.

I don't think you gain much with a header on a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l I would just do the Flow master exhaust. But I'm sure someone will chime in and disagree.

The few guys that I have talked to about a header on the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l seem to be quite satisfied, my opinion would be too much underhood hot air that would go into the induction system w/o the oem intake. I got a good kick in the pants feel with a fuel injection and Team Rush, plus better gas mileage. If you are running an oem muffler, I would think it would be pretty clogged up by now.

Any recommendations on which specific Flowmaster? They seem to have a lot of different models, and I don't understand the importance of the differences.

Thx

If it were me I think I would go with the new dBX series.
