Relieving hard ride '80 CJ7 304 rock climber
Fabulous CJ7 with great underbody... Wish my CJ looked as pristine as yours. I've a similar problem, It bounces a lot even when running over ants. Don't mean to brag but busty wife gets tired of riding on the Jeep after only a couple of minutes so I think I will try looking for smoother shocks as well. Problem is I don't know If I should start with the rear ones or the front (it's very unlikely I'll come up with the cash for the 4 this very weekend). Any suggestions?

:)Well we should all be so Lucky ( with a busty wife that is ) 4" lift is probably the first problem.......in order to get the lift they have to re arc the springs and make them stiffer to hold the weight up..............you can take a leave out of the bottom or two of each spring pack which will help your ride but sacrifice your lift a little...........also if you have stiff shocks get something that is either adjustable or more soft........and make sure all your suspension points have good bushings and are properly lubricated...........

:D:D:D:D

Oh I'm more than willing to give up some lift in exchange for a smoother ride. Roads down here in Mexico are absolute :dung: and don't want to tick of the wife!

For as DHugg said it with poetical prowess in his initial post "So far she likes the Jeep, which makes my life a lot easier, and I'd like to keep her enthusiasm for top-down woods-running alive."
