ON THE HUNT AGAIN
Dropping this link in again this year:
Let's Say Thanks

They get these cards and it means alot, take a sec on hit it up.
:)

I have sent over $2000 of stuff over to my friend....knives,candy,canned goods, cophagen dip, sunflower seeds, phone cards, cards signed by kids,flashdrives...etc........the biggest "winners" were the copenhagen, sunflowers seeds, and just a plain old card that said "thank-you"

to us at the holidays we put our cards on the fridge, mantle, or wherever to display....these guys and gals carry them in their pockets.....for the reminder of home and to keep going.

im in.....ooorah

i also recommend your local carepackage organizations
suggesstions: copenhagen (sharing, trading, or using), sunflowers seeds, sports illustrated, sweettarts (great bargaining with locals).....or ask a person thats been there

I have 4 over there 1 Marine asked for sweetarts... 1 US Marshal....sunfllower seeds....1 army asked for copenhagen....1 "civilian contractor" ...."reading material"
but all have enjoyed even a card saying thank you

I don't tell everyone on the internet I'm in the Navy, or what I do for that matter, but this time of year I do like to tell everyone how important it is to do something for your troops overseas. I've spent a handful of Christmas' away from friends and family, it's crappy enough as it, no matter where you are, but to have just a little something as a pick-me-up, it makes it a little more bareable. You don't have to do a lot, just do something.

14yrs and 2 branch's I can tell you I really appreciated the care packages, but the cards from the kids ment the most. Reminded me of why I was there and what I was doing it for. Made sleeping on the ground, freezing in the rain/snow, roasting in the heat not such a big deal. It's the least I could do to make sure others had a chance at a good life.

I tried to write back when given the chance to let them know I got the card.

Grandson is on his 2nd tour in Iraq. Those packages mean everything. They put all their snacks and stuff on the table and share with the whole company.
So by all means think of them.Even a bag of Xmas candy puts a smile on there faces.:patriot:
