After going thru some of the threads and post, it brought back memories of my first CJ. A 1967 Kaiser Willys, I was only 16 and traded a 1970 Chevy Nova SS for it. I know, I wish I had that Nova SS now but back then it was just a car and I wanted that jeep! It was not stock by no means sporting a 327 Corvette engine backed with a Muncie 4 speed. I was truly the kid around these parts able to lift the front end off the ground in first, second and third! I thought I was impressing the girls when all I was doing was trashing a jeep. Split the Transfer Case in two dumping the clutch and broke the frame under the drivers seat and had to have it fish plated. Even with all that muscle, it was still a goat and took it places I probably would not go today. Man I miss that thing!!

Yes I do remember the first, and I still have it! I also beat the :dung: out of mine with no regard for it at times but I sure paid the price for that rebuilding it last year.:D

does any body else drive a "one owner" CJ??

You are the MAN IO :chug:

Mine was a 1947 CJ2a with a 327 Chevy in front of a stock drivetrain...Broke a lot of parts the first year, then broke the frame and had to scrap it for lack of knowledge and funds to fix it. Wish I still had it.

I remember mine fondly
a 65 tux
had it for 20 years
cried the day it committed suicide

I knew every bolt on that rig because I had mine hands on them all the time:chug:

My '84 I bought from the original owner and it was a basket case.

I still have my first Cj

Mine was a '80 CJ7 . Had more holes than swiss cheese!! But found early the many uses of duct tape. The frame finally split into two pieces. Still have some parts left from it years later.

Yep, still driving it.
Acquired it in Nov 1974.

My first vehicle when i turned 17 was a 83cj8...6cyl.AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l automatic....traded it in on a new 93 YJ..man i regret that....i cant even find pictures of it...i want to track it down to see where it is...guess i have to call my old car insurance office and get the vin #....has anyone ever looked up a old car/jeep they've owned in the past?...

My first was a '77 Levis Renegade , straight and what a fun ride

...for those of you whom are Steppenwolf fans the dog on the hood sides was painted by a friend whom adapted the "Steppenwolf Live" album cover.

I don't know what possessed me to trade for a '66 Malibu

I’m the one and only owner of mine and I took possession of it on April 9th 1982 w/ 4/10ths of a mile on it, from a dealership in Myrtle Beach S. Carolina. I was stationed at Marine Corp Recruit Depot, Parris Island which is about 3 hours below M. Beach where my sister lived. She knew the salesman at the Jeep dealership. I paid $9,317 for it but it had a sticker price of $10,610. I've had 2 other CJ7 's since, an 80 and an 84, but I still have my first. She's getting her 30 year resto right now.

Amazing how vehicle prices have tripled since those days! My monthly payment over 4 years was $218.63. That's probably less than a motorcycle payment nowadays!
