Hey guys, so I’m attempting to remove timing cover and I was wondering what is the preferred tool to remove a harmonic balancer on an AMC 304 ? I’ve seen some people getting dragged for recommending certain pullers… what’s the best way?

It probably has 4 tapped holes in it for the connection to the pulley. Correct?

Get yourself a multi-use puller and use 2 opposing holes and the correct bolts into the hub of the balancer.
Don't use a puller with hook-type arms around the outer diameter of the balancer, because the balancer is made of 2 pieces and you can pull the outer piece off of the inner hub piece.

I recently pulled one off a small block Ford. Yours should look similar.
