Ugh...While replacing the Transmission mount I snapped off the head of the bolt and now have no idea what I can do to get the bolt out!

Help, please!

A drill and an ez-out come to mind. Start with a tiny bit and get as close as you can to center. Then slowly increase the size of the next drill but keep it smaller than the bolts shaft size. You don't want to touch the female side of the threads. Then try your ez out. But if you see the shaft of the ez out twisting and the bolt isn't... stop. You don't want to break off the ez out in the hole or your problems just got worse!

I agree with this and after getting a hole drilled an ready , I would if possible put torch around it not directly on the broken bolt but the surrounding area with the threads this will really increase your chances of removal ,, if you have room without damage to something else

If you just busted off the head of the bolt and if the threads are not bottomed out, it should come out pretty well. Another way to get it out would be using a left handed drill, which would help the stud back itself out. Use a center punch to locate a center point and a small drill to help keep the drill on center. There are examples of removing studs on YouTube also.

Well I was going to add that but I'm thinking if it's aluminum that's probably not a good idea. Similar to spark plugs in an alum. head. It's best to remove them with a cold engine. That was my train of thought. But if it was steel, then yes, heat is your friend when it comes to stuck bolts.

is there anything sticking out at all?? what size bolt, what does it hold ? the best method is to weld a nut on the broken end and it will thread right out. One way or the other you are going to have to drop the skid plate to get at the broken bolt.

the bolts on my CJ Transmission mount are 1/2" I think, you must have put some serious stuff on those to break one. It may be time to invest in a torque wrench and learn how to use it.:D

yes exactly if the surrounding area is alum. then no .
but I have used a small tank with mapp gas with a good rosebud tip that helps keep you to an more isolated area using the heat but yes by all means don't damage any thing else to complicate any problems to start with

@IO: thats two recent opportunities you jumped on -- to bust balls about over-torqueing!!! (I remember!!) LOLOLOL

I favor Torxheads advice of left-handed drill...

"Easy outs" have let me down lately... But I watched a buddy use a left-handed drill and it was freaking nuts to see the broken bolt come out!!

And don't forget the Loctite!:D
